Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome everywhere in the Paris Opera.
The Palais Garnier and the Opéra Bastille (Grande salle and Amphithéâtre Olivier Messiaen) have specific and dedicated areas to accommodate our spectators in different seating categories and according to their needs.
All the performances staged at the Paris Opera (except Gala or special Arop evenings and Studio Bastille programming) are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
The Paris Opera holds special “Relax” performances, which guarantee a kind and inclusive welcome system to facilitate theatre visits to the disabled persons (autism, multiple disabilities, mental disability, Alzheimer's disease…) whose handicap can cause atypical or unpredictable behaviours during the performance.
Both the audience and the artists are informed before the performance and the usual codes are less strict to ensure that everyone can enjoy the show and fully live their emotions, without fear of being judged.
For these performances, the welcoming staff is larger and aware of all types of disability.
