Synopsis
Youssouf, Love 2000, and their mates are caught between two clashing worlds that quake beneath their feet. Reassured by the euphoria of the virtual, they creep, leap, hide and drive in the evenings after school. “Fast and furious”, but without overdoing it. They know their multiplication tables, and yet, they dream of a world where people stop counting… on them! And now we’re going to play together to uncover their complexities, to learn from them and understand how these children came to be who they are. We are going to retrace our origins, and count the number of languages spoken in class, at home or in the street. But which of them should we choose? Who cares! All of them! Talk, talk… Don’t stop talking. Tell a story, sing a song, dance! Play with the world so that it can barely escape us. We’re going to shuffle the geographical cards, deal out the frontiers, travel on the spot, imagine dream destinations. We’ll make huge philosophical jumps. We’ll be individuals, a group, a band or a pack. A chorus of big-hearted soloists breathing fire or love. Those who have seen the sea will tell us of the horizon; those who took the train will tell us that inertia in a speeding train is impossible. Close your eyes and recognise yourself amongst the others: we realise that things are running "aground" and sometimes, we have to propose dreamt-up worlds in order to bring out words of affection, songs and moments of silence, so we can better move forward and set out over the rugged terrains of tomorrow. Resist the irresistible, cross over to the other side of the fence, just like the Yamakasis who make our most urban dreams soar in the sky...
