The Mirror of Metamorphoses

Interview with Claude Lévêque

By Marion Mirande 18 July 2017

Among the legends that haunt the Palais Garnier, is that of an underground lake. A mirror surface reflecting the fantasies of artists and spectators alike, it is today the inspiration for a film made by plastic artist Claude Lévêque for the 3rd Scene. With Le Lac perdu he has composed a visual score around various areas of the Paris Opera, filled with the dreams and mystery that so often abound in his works. An encounter with the artist who, in 2009, represented France at the 53rd Venice Biennale.
