For his first performance as Romeo in Rudolf Nureyev's great Shakespearean ballet Romeo and Juliet, Paul Marque talks to Octave magazine about his approach to the role. After outlining the story of this tragic love, the Étoile dancer describes how he worked alongside his partner Sae Eun Park, who was also named Étoile after the first performance. Paul Marque details the technical and dramatic difficulties of this ballet, and lastly recounts his emotion at returning to the stage and the Paris Opera's audiences.
