Cancellation of performances of March 2021

As the evolution of the health situation does not offer any prospect of welcoming the public back to our theatres in the short term, we are unfortunately obliged to cancel performances until Monday 5 April inclusive.

All the public performances of the new production of Aida, due to be given at the Opéra Bastille, have thus been cancelled, as well as the "Concert de musique russe" on 4 March at the Amphithéâtre, the Young Audience recitals on 4, 5, 23 and 25 March at the Studio Bastille, the production of Pingouin scheduled at the Amphithéâtre Bastille from 17 to 22 March, and the recital by Julie Fuchs scheduled for 30 March at the Palais Garnier. Also cancelled are the public performances of Faust, directed by Tobias Kratzer, scheduled from 12 March to 3 April, as well as those of Roland Petit's ballet Notre-Dame de Paris, scheduled between 26 March and 6 April. Spectators affected by cancellations will be informed of the refund procedures for their tickets in the coming days.

Performances scheduled for April, with the exception of the Jeunes Danseurs de l'Opéra evening, are at this stage maintained with a few changes in dates. At the Palais Garnier, rehearsals of Angelin Prejlocaj's ballet Le Parc continue in preparation for the performances scheduled from 7 to 27 April, with two additional performances on 9 and 12 April. With rehearsals continuing, the opera Faust and the ballet Notre-Dame de Paris will be performed from 6 to 21 April and 7 April to 7 May respectively, if health conditions permit at that time.

Information concerning the rest of the Paris Opera's programme for this season will soon be detailed on our website operadeparis.fr and our mobile application.

Many of you are eagerly awaiting the reopening of our theatres; we are most grateful and assure you of all our efforts to meet your expectations when the time comes. To keep in touch with the Opera, do not hesitate to watch our productions and documentaries on our platform at chezsoi.operadeparis.fr: you can now discover Giuseppe Verdi's Il Trovatore directed by Àlex Ollé, the Thierrée / Shechter / Pérez / Pite evening, as well as the concert given by the artists of the Academy in homage to Saint-Saëns.

In addition, among the productions concerned by the above announcements, Le Parc, Faust and Notre-Dame de Paris should soon be recorded and broadcast on France Télévisions, with the new production of Aida, directed by Lotte de Beer, now available on arte.tv, to be broadcast on France Musique on February 27th and then remain available for 1 month on francemusique.fr.

In this ever-uncertain context, we remain determined to prepare our forthcoming productions so that we can share the emotions of live performance with you as soon as possible. The artists, technicians and all the teams of the Paris Opera join me in thanking you for your trust and sincerely hope to welcome you back soon.
