Biography

Thibaut Lenaerts won his first prizes for singing under the guidance of Greta DeReyghere at the Royal Conservatory in Liège and Thierry Migliorini at the Royal Conservatory in Mons. He has sung as a soloist under the direction of numerous conductors including William Christie (Les Arts Florissants), Hervé Niquet (Le Concert Spirituel), Guy Van Waas, Leonardo García Alarcón, Louis Langrée, Jean Tubéry, Patrick Davin, Marc Minkowski, Frider Bernius, and Philippe Herreweghe… Highly esteemed as a concert performer and a recitalist, he has appeared at numerous opera venues, from La Monnaie in Brussels to theatres in Liège, Rennes, Avignon, Reims, and Versailles under the baton of Christophe Rousset among others. Thibaut Lenaerts is an active member of the Namur Chamber Choir both as a singer and as an assistant for the ensemble. Since 2014 he has been the assistant of conductor Leonardo García Alarcón. He prepares the choir for productions conducted by Guy Van Waas, Christophe Rousset, and Jean-Claude Malgoire among others…
He has performed all over the world with Les Arts Florissants from Rio de Janeiro, to New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Singapore, Moscow, Tokyo, Hong-Kong, and Istanbul…He has worked with directors like Robert Carsen, Frédéric Dussenne, Luc Bondy, José Montalvo, and Deborah Warner. Thibaut Lenaerts also teaches at the Royal Conservatories in Brussels and Liège. He has recorded some fifty CDs and leads his own vocal and instrumental ensemble: Le Petit Sablon.
