Izabella Wnorowska-Pluchart Alto

Season 23/24 Artist – Chorus of the Opera

Born in Poland in 1974, Isabelle Wnorowska-Pluchard studied at the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Varsovie from 1994 until 2000. She performed the role of Dorabella in Così fan tutte at the Grand Theatre in Varsovie and the Second Lady in Magic Flute on tour in Germany with the Trawinska-Moroz opera Company. In 2001, she joined the Paris Opera Chorus and worked with Jorge Chaminé, Christiane Patard and Raphaël Sikorski. A laureate of CIMA (Concerti in Monte Argentario), she has taken part in several concerts at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, CIMA (Tuscany) and in a recording of Tchaikovsky melodies and Bizet arias. A finalist in the Young Artist Competition in Europe, she has given numerous song recitals in France, Italy, Poland and Germany. In 2011, she took part in a master class with Teresa Berganza in Bougival. During the last year she has been performing in concert with the Vittoria Choir conducted by Michel Piquemal and has sung Poulenc’s Gloria, Dies Irae by Martial Caillebotte and Misa Tango by Martin Palmeri. Her repertoire ranges from Giulio Cesare by Handel (Cleopatra) to Halka by Moniuszko, and includes Mozart (Fordiligi, la Comtesse), Verdi (Desdemona in Otello, Leonora in Il Trovatore, Elisabetta in Don Carlos) and Tchaikovsky (Tatiana in Eugene Onegin).
