Workshops/Productions

Artistic practise workshops (dancing, singing, acting) are organized in Opéra Bastille for three classes of the programme.

The students give performances of the production at the Opéra Bastille Amphitheatre as a conclusion to two years of artistic practise.

19 second grade students from the Poissonniers Primary School, Paris 18th, (Paris LEA) benefit from a music practise workshop, “The little violins”, which will last for four years. The students receive an initiation to the practise of an instrument, violin or viola, dispensed by Sergio Garcia. Several students will have the opportunity of going further by joining a music school. The rehearsals take place once a week (on Mondays) at the Paris National Opera, and the other days of the week at school. Each student will be sponsored by a musician, member of the Orchestra of the Paris National Opera, so that they can in 2013, play together in the grand Amphitheatre at the Sorbonne. The young violinists made their first public appearance in June 2010, in a prelude to the production “La Toile Enchantée”, and will be on stage again in June 2011, for the creation of “Lumières”. This workshop is financed through Barden and Flavia Gale’s gracious donation in memory of Doctor Pierre Nacache.

All the classes involved in Ten Months at School and at the Opera benefit from artistic practise workshops (dancing, singing, acting) in a partnership with local cultural structures and the Artistic and Cultural Delegations of the LEAs of Paris, Versailles and Créteil.
