Ernest Chausson gives the fatal love of Lancelot and Guinevere and the despair and grandeur of Arthus the dreamlike colours of a medieval world inherited from the Romantics and revisited by Symbolism.For this much-awaited addition to the repertoire, Thomas Hampson will perform the title role, alongside Sophie Koch conducted by Philippe Jordan .
