Eleven Étoiles on stage for the tribute to
William Forsythe / Trisha Brown
For 21 performances between December 3rd and December 31st 2012, eleven of the Paris Opera’s Étoile dancers, together with the Premiers danseurs and the Corps de Ballet, will pay tribute to William Forsythe and Trisha Brown at the Palais Garnier.
As a prelude to the Tricentenary of the French School of dance, these performances are intended to examine the development of the classical vocabulary through four ballets that were created specifically for the company by the two choreographers: In The Middle Somewhat Elevated, Woundwork 1 and Pas./Parts from William Forsythe and O Zlozony/O Composite from Trisha Brown.
While a whole new generation of dancers will be performing In The Middle Somewhat Elevated, no fewer than 11 of the Company’s Étoiles dancers will be on stage for the three other ballets: Isabelle Ciaravola, Emilie Cozette, Aurélie Dupont, Marie-Agnès Gillot, Agnès Letestu, Jérémie Bélingard, Mathieu Ganio, Nicolas Le Riche, Hervé Moreau, Benjamin Pech and Laëtitia Pujol.
