Présenté par Brigitte Lefèvre
La Fille mal gardée is the oldest action ballet in the French repertoire and at the same time the first modern one. First performed just days before the French Revolution, the storyline does not involve gods or ancient heroes but recounts through pantomime the adventures of the young lovers. The production is presented in the tender and humorous version imagined by Ashton in 1960.
