The Dramaturgy Department proposes this documentary series on the Opera’s workshops, a Paris Opera commission from the filmmaker François Roussillon.
Chapter 1
Giorgio Strehler’s historic associate, one of the last theatre set designers to use painted backdrops, Ezio Frigerio, accompanied by Michel Dalens, introduces us to the sets of La Dame du lac.
Chapter 2
Pierre-André Weitz, Olivier Py’s set designer, and Bertrand Killy present the models for Mathis le peintre, now part of the Paris Opera’s repertoire.
Chapter 3
As the team of Mathis le peintre put the finishing touches to the scenery backstage at the Bastille, Pierre-André Weitz discovers his full-scale sets for the first time.
